Salam...several months back I had started writing in my personal diary, then I stopped for a while. Now I'm writing again in my blog for who knows what reason.
I'm not excited about Hari Raya this year. So much has happened in the span of one year, most of which were just beyond my control. A few were joyous occasions, while a few others were nothing to shout about, but still maybe quite notable. I've made new friends...and lost a few. I've traveled more than usual, splurged a little more than I used to...and put my trust into someone who, in the end, had disappointed me deeply, for betraying my trust. Am I about to lose another friend?
Lesson(s) in life:
Choose your friends wisely.
Don't be nice and consider other people's feelings too much, sometimes you just have to selfish because people don't care about your feelings anyway.
Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Prioritize your needs and focus on achieving them. Don't be swayed by the things you want but don't need.
And, Oh God, so many more! But the ultimate thing is, just be happy. Be thankful for the smallest blessings in life. Be grateful for friends and family who honestly care about you and support you. You may just survive through life.

i finally got it!
Assalamu'alaikum...I finally bought "Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-" last week. The PSP game has been on my wish list for about a year now. During the first few months when I was eyeing the game, the various game stores I went to only had the Japanese version. So I waited a few more months for the English version to be released. During that time the desire to get my hands on the game slowly left my mind and I turned my focus on other things (like real life issues...go figure) and of course, another game on my wish list: "Final Fantasy XII". :) Although I would love for Square Enix to "re-make" "Final Fantasy VII" (FFVII) for the PS2, as a true fan, I guess I wouldn't want change anything about the beloved game. And, as a true FFVII fan, I wanted to know more about the events that led up to the story of FFVII - especially about the main character, Zack Fair, which is the main character of Crisis Core.
I've just played up to a few chapters and I'd have to admit that the game system needs a fair bit of getting used to. And the PSP is not good for the thumbs! But for Zack's sake, anything goes! (All the guys in the game are hot, by the way! Especially Zack, Genesis and Sephiroth! Hehehe...) :P
Today I brought Mama to Midvalley Megamall for some shopping. I'm glad that she's able to walk more than just around the house. Soon she'll be able to walk up the stairs, slowly but surely. Anyway, as it's a Sunday today, we left the house at about 9:45 a.m. so that we could get parking. And boy, were we glad that we left as early as we did. By lunch time the place was packed. I wanted to check out the Hello Kitty promotion by M.A.C and got some stuff there. I also brought Mama to lunch at "Delicious" and persuaded her to share with me their "Chocolicious Sundae". Mmmmm...it's my favourite dessert now. :D Abah and Abang Chor went back to Bruas to visit Opah so Mama and I took our time walking and shopping. Usually, Abah and Abang Chor would arrive home just about Maghrib time whenever they go back to Bruas. But when we got home about 3:45 p.m. just now, Abah and Abang Chor were already home! That was a real shocker. It turned out that they made it to Tanjung Malim before turning back. Abah had a massive headache and couldn't go on. Man, I was really glad that Abang Chor was with him. Poor Abah... :(
Anyway, tomorrow Abang Nyah is coming over for a visit and to pick up his letters which have been piling up. :P Maybe all of us can have a nice family lunch? Let's hope so...insya Allah. :)

crazy drivers on the road...
Assalamu'alaikum...I'm still here at the office, waiting for the traffic jam to ease. It's been raining here almost every evening and as much as I want to get home as early as possible, the thought of crawling through the traffic just doesn't appeal to me at all. Not to mention that fact that this is when drivers start to go nuts and impatient. Unlike the past 4 years, when I only take the LRT to get to work and only drive to Kelana Jaya, I have to drive all the way from Bukit Jelutong to Desa Petaling now (my new employer's location). Everyday I'd take the Federal Highway to get to the KL-Seremban Highway. It was not too bad at first. But I hated driving on the Federal Highway after I got into an accident in late November last week. It occurred during a rainy night, when I was driving home from work. And the funny thing was, I was hit first from behind, then like the domino effect, I banged the car in front of me. The driver who banged into me from behind was driving a Honda CRV and she got the nerve to say that it was my fault because I suddenly braked. What?! Just because she was driving a huge luxury car, she can actually put the blame on me?! Fortunately, the person whose car I hit (which happened to be a Honda too...but Honda Civic or was it Accord...?) was on my side and didn't blame at all. Phew!
Anyway, to cut the long story short, I lodged a police report at the PJ State Police Station (my experience there is another story altogether!) and went home with Mama and Abah who came to the rescue while I was waiting for the tow truck at the Federal Highway. :) My point is this: sometimes it doesn't matter how careful a driver you are, when other people are reckless on the road, and you happen to be close by i.e. in the next lane, in front of or behind that bloody driver, there's no way you can avoid being involved in an accident, unless you get to move away quickly. And driving to work everyday on that dreaded and loathsome Federal Highway, I've seen all sorts of crazy drivers! I mean, don't they value their lives at all??!! If you're late, you're late! It doesn't mean that if you rush like mad, time will move back and you'll reach your destination early! Like I said, when you're late, you're late! Time and tide waits for no man! Get it?! So think about your safety for God's sake and the safety of others. Everyone wants to reach their destination in one piece too, you know. :P

high school memories...
Assalamu'alaikum...so, I've finally beaten Ultima, one of the 8 hidden Espers in Final Fantasy XII. Yeah, it's taking me forever to finish the game, but I'm taking my time to build up my level. The first time I played the game, it was just about finishing the game, but now I want to try and finish the side-quests available. Anyway, I stopped playing for quite a while and when I was down with the flu last week, I thought I'd continue and yeay! Ultima is down...only one more hidden Esper to go. :)
Speaking of the flu, I think there's a virus flying around coz almost everyone at the clinic to which I went on Wednesday last week had very high body temperature, including me. I had to wait for an hour to see the doctor too. After getting my meds, I went home and stayed in bed for the rest of the week. Felt really lousy too...it's not great being sick, that I can guarantee you. Just make sure that you eat cooked food and good water....really good water. You can never be too sure nowadays.
Anyway, thanks to the meds, I was all better by Saturday evening. So yesterday, I was able to accompany Mama and Abah to one of Abah's schoolmate's house in KL, where a gathering of their high school alumni was held. It was something like a monthly gathering of the Anderson School alumni from year 1950s. And it so happens that the host for yesterday's gathering were the parents of the KRU guys. Boy, that sure brought up a lot of memories yesterday. Even though it was more than 10 years ago, it's still fresh in my mind.
I used to be ga-ga over KRU back in high school. I went to almost all of their promotional events (this was when they were just beginning to grow famous), their concert, their movies, their fans get-together, you name it. And when yesterday Abah mentioned to Aunty Zarina (their mum) that he used to drive me to their house in Taman Melawati whenever they had a get together for the fans, I was rather embarrassed about it! But she made it ok by saying, "I was young once!" Hehehehehe.... And I was glad that none of the boys was at home. But I was proven wrong when after the whole event was done and we were all having lunch outside, there came Norman (he was my favourite out of the 3) from inside the house, fresh from the shower, trying to get his share of the buffet lunch served under the front porch. Hahaha...like I said, it sure brought back a lot of memories... :P Now I feel like listening to all their old songs! :D

so typical of me
Assalamu'alaikum...*sigh* it's just so typical of me to always neglect updating my blog. No matter how many times I keep reminding myself to write something, there's always something else to do. Too many distractions out there...like Facebook. Yeah, can't tell you how addictive that site has become. Instead of updating my blog, I update my status in Facebook! :-P
And it's so typical of me to get hooked on something new e.g. new book, new mobile phone, new tv series, etc. Last 2 months, my new obsession was Harry Potter. I bought the whole book collection and finished reading them in 2 months. (It took me longer to finish "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone" than "Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince"!) It actually started when I bought the boxed DVD set of the Harry Potter movies. After going through a marathon session of the movies, my curiosity got the better of me, as I didn't want to wait for the next movie to be released to know what's going to happen next. So I headed to MPH to get me the books. Now I know what's in store for Harry and his friends, I can't wait for the movie this July!
To add to the Harry Potter obsession phase I'm going through right now, yesterday I bought "Tales of Beedle The Bard" by J K Rowling. Although it's not a sequel to the Harry Potter series, it's a book that's mentioned in the said series. Will be reading it after I'm done with my final exam this Friday. :-D
I'm also hooked on getting my hands on Japanese drama series or movies, whether on VCD or DVD. Instead of studying hard for my final exam and finishing up my assignment, I was watching "Love 2000", a Japanese drama series which I bought yesterday. Unfortunately, not many of these Japanese series have English subtitles. But I was lucky that this particular series has English AND Bahasa Malaysia subtitles. And even luckier, the main star of this series is none other than Takeshi Kaneshiro! *swoon*
Anyway, enough about my obsessions for the time being. Here are some updates with what's been happening in my life: I had my appendics removed last month. About a week after that Mama had her 2nd spine surgery and she's now recuperating at home. No climbing up the stairs or driving or heavy activity around the house for about a month or so. And yours truly and Abah are the home nurses. Hehehe... :-P
Ok...I should go to bed now since tomorrow is a working day. *yawn* Wassalam...

why, ren, why?
Assalamu'alaikum...Heeyyyy...I've been neglecting my blog for almost 2 months now. Time to get things back on track! First thing, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all Muslims around the world and Maaf Zahir & Batin. :-)
Abang Chor bought "The Incredible Hulk" and "Iron Man" DVD a few weeks back and I couldn't stop watching them since. I saw "The Incredible Hulk" for 2 days in a row. Edward Norton is just adorable. Hehehe... I'm now looking forward to "The Dark Knight" on DVD coz I missed it at the cinemas. Another yummylicious actor - Christian Bale, to drool over. They really know how to take all these hunky actors to play the superheroes, huh? ;-)
And Happy Birthday to Abah, who turned 68 on 31st October. We celebrated the joyous occasion at Paddington House of Pancakes at the Curve. It was Mama and Abah's first time dining there and I'm very happy to say that they enjoyed it. Gotta admit though, we had a hard time choosing what to eat! :-P I ordered the Treasure Box for dessert and shared it with the rest. It was yummyliciousssss!!! :-D
Another happy news is that I'm going to be an aunt soon, insya Allah!! Yup, Abang Nyah and Mariam are expecting their first baby, who is scheduled to make an appearance some time in May next year. So far things are going well. :-D Make sure you take care of yourself, Mariam! And Abang Nyah, you take good care of her, aight!
More news...I've started my new job for almost a month now. Honestly, I experienced "culture shock" at first, but then I surprised myself by adjusting to the situation quite well and quite fast too. The work is challenging, which was what I was expecting, and I hope that I'll be able to learn the ropes, contribute my own experience and knowledge and make a difference there, insya Allah. :-D Nope, I'm not gonna reveal exactly where I'm working, but will do so soon. Tungguuuuuuu...
Remember in one of my previous posts, where I mentioned that I was addicted to "Nana", a manga and anime series? Well...I spent the whole night sorting out my bills and what nots for filing and as usual, I checked up the One Manga website for updates on Nana's latest chapter. And the latest chapter is so damn depressing! Nana's boyfriend, Ren, met with a fatal car accident and died on the spot...alone... What's more depressing was that it happened on the eve of Nana's birthday. Oh man...Ai Yazawa, the author of Nana, really knows how to engage her readers and fans. Why does Ren have to die? What's gonna happen next, especially to Nana? Sob...sob...

the big "D"
Assalamu'alaikum...Good news! I got the big "D" for Module 1 of the Certificate course I'm taking. That is, D = Distinction. Hehehe... :-) Alhamdulillah...I'm grateful that all the hard work had paid off.
Just to let you in on what the course is about, it's an Executive Certificate in HR/IR, initiated by our Human Resource Development division of the company, together with FMM (Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers). In total, I have to pass 3 Modules successfully, in order to get the Certificate. I'm currently in the middle of Module 2, which is on the Malaysian Employment Laws. Module 1 was on Human Resource Management, while Module 3 will be on Industrial Relations Practices in Malaysia.
Last week my classmates and I sat for the mid-term test, and now we have to crack our heads to complete our assignment! Unlike the assignment for Module 1, which was group-based, Module 2's assignment is on individual basis, which means "die lorrr!!!" Hahahaha...
Whatever. Got to start drafting! Oh yeah, before I forget, "Selamat Hari Malaysia" to my fellow Malaysians!

al-fatihah
Assalamu'alaikum...Ayah Cu passed away last night just before midnight. Abang Chor and I were having a marathon of the Jason Bourne trilogy on DVD last night and around 11:30 p.m. Abang Jan called to say that Ayah Cu was really nazak.
Then when I came down for bersahur this morning, Abang Chor broke the news. It must have happened when I already went to bed.
Let's all sedekahkan al-fatihah for the passing of Ayah Cu. May Allah bless his soul hereafter. Amin.

somber saturday
Assalamu'alaikum...Tomorrow marks the 14th day of Ramadhan and before you know it, Hari Raya Aidilfitri will be here. I have to admit, I don't feel the usual excitement and hype about Hari Raya anymore. It might be because I'm already grown up, unlike when we were kids, we looked forward to wearing brand new Hari Raya clothes and collecting those green packets filled with money from our aunts and uncles. Today, Hari Raya, for me, would be more about spending quality time with my family, then visit close relatives and friends, and of course, be the perfect hosts to relatives and friends who come over for a visit. I kinda miss the big family gathering at my grandma's house. But everyone has their own family now, so those days are gone. Nevertheless, wherever all of you are, have a very happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri. :-)
This afternoon, my cousin, Along, called and informed that my uncle, Ayah Cu, is very ill. He has been hospitalised at GH Alor Setar and was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. He's at the critical stage, where the doctors aren't able to do anything anymore for him. They have advised that the family bring Ayah Cu home. It's not possible for us to drive up to Kedah, so Mama called up Wan Cu to offer her support and comfort during this emotionally draining day. I remember him looking weak and unusually thin during Abang Nyah's wedding. He was already sick during that time, but he still came. He will be in our prayers.
Since we're in a serious subject, my life has arrived at a crossroads of some sort. In a short span of time, I was asked to make a decision that will change the course of my future. I can't elaborate more as the decision has not been "finalised" and therefore, I will only be transparent about it when everything has been confirmed. But coming back to the crossroads, I guess it's something everyone will face one way or another, be it in their personal lives and/or career. And sometimes hasty decisions are made and sometimes a very thorough plan delays the decision. For my part, it is more of a concern regarding the people who may be affected by my decision. For once, I'd like to be selfish and think about what matters to me, but on the other hand, I'm a person who always think about what others think. Some find it as a weakness, and I agree that at a certain level it is. Abang Nyah calls me a worry-wart (sp?) because of it. Truth be told, I don't know whether is a good or a bad trait. And so...I'm just gonna try to ignore that "worried" side of me and be selfish. I'll face those people when the time comes, and I hope I will have the support needed.
At times like these, I wish that I were a kid again because I don't have to worry about making a big decision that will determine my destiny. All I need to worry about is whether I get to go out and play or not. Sigh...how I wish life can be as simple as that. Lesson for today: Life is too short for you to worry about unnecessary things. Live life to the fullest and make it meaningful till the end.

This afternoon, my cousin, Along, called and informed that my uncle, Ayah Cu, is very ill. He has been hospitalised at GH Alor Setar and was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. He's at the critical stage, where the doctors aren't able to do anything anymore for him. They have advised that the family bring Ayah Cu home. It's not possible for us to drive up to Kedah, so Mama called up Wan Cu to offer her support and comfort during this emotionally draining day. I remember him looking weak and unusually thin during Abang Nyah's wedding. He was already sick during that time, but he still came. He will be in our prayers.
Since we're in a serious subject, my life has arrived at a crossroads of some sort. In a short span of time, I was asked to make a decision that will change the course of my future. I can't elaborate more as the decision has not been "finalised" and therefore, I will only be transparent about it when everything has been confirmed. But coming back to the crossroads, I guess it's something everyone will face one way or another, be it in their personal lives and/or career. And sometimes hasty decisions are made and sometimes a very thorough plan delays the decision. For my part, it is more of a concern regarding the people who may be affected by my decision. For once, I'd like to be selfish and think about what matters to me, but on the other hand, I'm a person who always think about what others think. Some find it as a weakness, and I agree that at a certain level it is. Abang Nyah calls me a worry-wart (sp?) because of it. Truth be told, I don't know whether is a good or a bad trait. And so...I'm just gonna try to ignore that "worried" side of me and be selfish. I'll face those people when the time comes, and I hope I will have the support needed.
At times like these, I wish that I were a kid again because I don't have to worry about making a big decision that will determine my destiny. All I need to worry about is whether I get to go out and play or not. Sigh...how I wish life can be as simple as that. Lesson for today: Life is too short for you to worry about unnecessary things. Live life to the fullest and make it meaningful till the end.

ramadhan mubarak!
Assalamu'alaikum...Ramadhan Mubarak everyone! And not forgetting...Happy 51st Merdeka, Malaysia! :-) It's hard to believe that we're already in the last quarter of the year. By the time you know it, it will be the end of the year and hello 2009. What happened to "take it slow" ?!? Guess that's history...
So...what's new? Nothing much, really. I visited Abang Nyah and Mariam 2 weeks ago, at their apartment in Damansara Damai. Nice and cozy! :-) It's not that far from Bukit Jelutong, but the traffic jam makes it "far" coz it takes longer to get there than it usually does.
Early last month Mama, Abah and I went to Sadrina's (my niece) wedding. Her mom, Kak Kin, is my cousin on Mama's side. It's kind of a special occasion coz Sadrina is the first "cicit" in the Ainul family and she's the first who got married. Also, she got married on her birthday, which was August 1st. :-) During the kenduri on August 2nd, another cousin of mine, Kak Nona, was there helping out Kak Kin with the wedding i.e. greeting guests, etc. Kak Nona and Kak Kin were Mama and Abah's flower girls for their wedding in 1969. See where this is going? Hehehe...
Anyway, since they were there at the same place, at a special occasion, I took the opportunity of getting a picture of the 4 of them for old time's sake. :-) And below is the result! In both of the pictures, Kak Nona is standing next to Abah and Kak Kin is the one next to Mama.
So what do you guys think? Not bad, eh? :-P I'm not an expert at graphic designing, but since the Adobe Photoshop Elements on my PC is very user-friendly, it's easy to create designs like the pic above. Aahh...the wonderful world of technology... :-) Wassalam...

family's first wedding
Assalamu'alaikum...One of the historical moments in my family's life this year is my brother's end of bachelorhood. He and Mariam were engaged on 25 May 2008 and about a month later they officially tied the knot, or as we Muslims say: ijab-kabul or bernikah. Naturally, we were all very happy and excited about the whole marriage. As this was the first marriage in our family, our relatives were all very eager to help out in any way that they can. But since Mama and Abah outsource most of the arragements and planning, there wasn't much to be done. Of course we're very grateful for the offers. Perhaps we can work together for the next wedding, insya Allah. :-) (Next wedding? I wonder whose and when that will be??)
Now that the wedding ceremonies and receptions are over, Abang Nyah and Mariam are slowly settling down in their new apartment, and life is back to normal. But I somehow feel like there's some sort of emptiness in the house and in myself. I was thinking about it for days, wondering what is the sadness that came over me all of a sudden. Then when I saw Abang Nyah yesterday morning in the kitchen, talking with Mama over coffee, I was so happy to see him. Then I realised that I missed him ever since he got married. When he was transferred to Johor from Sarawak, we only see him during the weekend when he would drive up Friday evening back home and back to Johor Sunday night. But now he won't be coming home to Bukit Jelutong for the weekend, instead, it would be to Damansara Damai - their new home. I will really miss him laa... :-( (I need to get married too so I won't feel so lonely!!)
Anyway, the wedding reception on our side went quite well. Although quite a few people couldn't make it, many others from afar came and that really touched us. Their presence proved that they share our tight hold on friendship and family values. To my friends, especially the gang, thank you so much for coming to the wedding. :-)

my life so far...
Assalamu'alaikum...I just came back from watching "Iron Man" for the second time this week. Robert Downey Jr. is simply yummy. ;-D That aside, besides the kick-ass action sequences, I just love the soundtrack. Two thumbs-up for me!
I've also been busy preparing for my brother, Ezral's wedding. Well, that's not the whole truth. Both of my parents are doing the bulk of the work coz I'm always busy with work, but I help out when I can. What's that? Finally, you say? Yes! Finally, there's going to be a wedding in our family! And the person whom is getting married is the person whom once said that he's never getting married! :-P What irony, huh? Anyway, we're all very happy of course. So, we are hoping that all will go well, insya Allah.
So...what else is new? My eyesight is getting poorer. I just went for a check-up last weekend and apparently my glasses' power has increased. But the optometrist said I can still use the current glasses I've been using for the past year, but also to make sure that I go for another check-up in the next 3 months. I've always been proud that I was the only one in the family who had perfect eyesight. But that's history now. I'm getting used to the idea of wearing glasses already, although I've always thought about wearing contact lenses instead. Well, we'll see in the next 3 months.
I've also got hooked on this manga & anime series called "Nana". Ever since then, I've been browsing through all available websites on the series. Eventually, I discovered this website called "One Manga". The website has a collection of your favourite mangas "scanlated" --> scanned + translated; and you can read them for free! So...I've been frequenting the website almost every day to see what's happening to my favourite manga characters. Those of you who like manga, I do recommend this site for your reading pleasure. :-)
Okay...that's it for now. I want to dream of Robert Downey Jr. tonight. Hahahahaha...

long time no see!
Assalamu'alaikum...Sorry for the long silence, my readers. There goes my promise to update at least once a week...or was it once a month? I can't even remember what I promised! :P Oh well...anyway, here I am, forcing myself to write here before I don't write forever and ever. Obviously, a lot, and I mean a lot has been happening since the last time I wrote. But I don't think I'm gonna write them all in here. But! I will write about my trip to Medan, which was during the Merdeka weekend in August. Also, I'll probably let you all know that I'll be climbing Mt. Kinabalu in March next year, insya Allah. So...I have about 5-6 months to get in shape and do some serious training for the big climb! Will be back tomorrow to tell you all about my trip to Medan.
Till then, I'll leave you all with a picture taken last week when I came home from work. The Rangoon Creeper was blooming beautifully, I couldn't resist taking a shot with my Nokia N73. FYI, the creepers are on our pergola at the front door porch. Hope you guys love nature like I do! Good night!

a night in KL
Assalamu'alaikum...last week on Wednesday, 31 January, my colleagues and I (including my boss and big boss and another big boss) had a buffet dinner at Nikko Hotel, which is just next to our office building, Menara Citibank. It wasn't to celebrate anything special, but it was more like a gathering thingy. And lucky for us, the coffee house had a cool promotion for last month, which was a 50% discount for Citibank credit card holders. :) Anyway, it was a fun dinner coz I had the best dessert that night - blueberry cheese pudding. I wish I could have taken the mouth-watering seafood dishes they had, but I didn't want to take the risk of developing itchy rashes! :P Many of my colleagues commented that they had better buffet dinners at other hotels and suggested that we go there in the next 4 to 5 months. Life is about eating, isn't it?! Hahahah!
Speaking about life, I sometimes wonder what it's like experiencing night life in KL city. After working there for almost 3 years now, all I ever think about after office hours is just to get home and watch tv and then sleep. But after the buffet dinner that night, I was walking to my car with 2 of my colleagues and suddenly I had a beautiful view of KLCC from the parking lot...and it was a sight to behold. I took the opportunity of taking a picture of it with my mobile and then I felt like wanting to take a walk to the towers and enjoy the beautiful lights...you know, enjoying KL at night. Wouldn't it be nice? :)

itchy scratchy
Assalamu'alaikum...it's become a routine for me for a few weeks now. After work, I come home and have dinner with my parents and will be just in time to watch "Dragon Ball" on Animax at 9pm. Then I will come online to either check my e-mails (which I rarely check until recently), update my blog (which I updated only very recently), or just surf the web. And now I just uploaded a pic I took with my mobile, into my computer. Isn't technology just wonderful? Who would've thought about digital cameras in the old days? Or even mobile phones? We're really spoilt, you know. ;)
Alrighty, time for updates. The week before last i.e. 6 January 2007, my friends Zai + Affandi were married. I was invited for the akad nikah ceremony at Zai's house. I love their hantaran. They were just beautiful. I couldn't get pics of Zai's hantaran to Affandi, but I managed to get pics of Affandi's hantaran to Zai. The next night, Zai's family held the wedding reception at Sime Darby Convention Centre. The food was great. The starter was soup with crab meat and it was really, really delicious. But silly me, I totally forgot that I'm allergic to seafood, so towards the end of the night, my body including my face, got itchy. My right eye began to swell, but nobody noticed it...thank God! Speaking of which, I'm actually in an itchy scratchy situation. I'm trying to recall what I ate today that could've caused this itch. And so far, I can't recall anything. Sigh...just imagine. I haven't been allergic to anything all my life until about 6 months ago when I developed allergies. After seeing a skin speliacist and going through an allergy test, it was discovered that I'm allergic to almost everything due to my very sensitive skin. But my skin gave the highest negative reaction to cow's milk and banana. So...I'm allergic to those two. I'm also to avoid seafood, except fish (depends on what type of fish too), peanuts and dust mites. It's depressing! :(
But...let's look on the positive side. With all the pantang that I have to go through, it will be a lot easier for me to lose weight! Hehehe... ;) I just need superb self-control and self-discipline to go through it. :P
Anyway, back to the wedding, I met up with many SSP class of 1991 alumni. The reception was also a mini reunion for us. :) For photos, click here: http://akidura.fotopages.com
Then this past Saturday i.e. 13 January 2007, was Affandi's side of the wedding reception at Dewan Perdana Felda. Alas, I didn't have the chance to take any photos that night, but it was a beautiful reception. :) Yesterday was the majlis aqiqah for Shahril + Bayani's daughter, Myiesha. It still amazed me to look at the cute bundle of joy of the proud & happy parents. My friends are parents! :D I also visited Akmar + Tina's baby girl, Mira, at Akmar's house in TTDI. She's soooo cute and tiny! Again...my friends are parents! Heheh... :P Anyway, here's shot of cute little Mira yawning.
I wonder when it's going to be my turn...???

another new year
Assalamu'alaikum...Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha and Happy New Year everyone. Where has the year 2006 gone to? Did everyone actually fulfilled your 2006 resolutions? I know I didn't and I'm a little ashamed to admit it. :( My self-discipline wasn't strong enough, I think. And perhaps I didn't have enough encouragement. So...I think I should bring forward those unfulfilled resolutions to this year. And I'm going to make sure that I fulfill at least one of them! :D
So...what's been happening with me? Nothing much. Was under a lot of stress during the final months of 2006. Personal stress and work stress. At first I kept everything to myself, which was really unhealthy, but I couldn't help myself. But eventually, I just had to talk to someone and that someone was my colleague (let's name her "A"). I would have wanted to confide in my best friend or maybe a family member or other close friends, but in the end A was the person I thought would understand my situation. It's not that I didn't trust the other people, but they had problems of their own and I didn't want to burden them with my tales of woe. Anyway, it was a relief to be able to release my anguish, worries, or whatever it was that I was going through. I don't know if I'm 100% "recovered", but I'm getting there. :)
Now...for happier tales: I went on a baby-visiting spree two weekends ago and it was both tiring and wonderful. First it was Shahril + Bayani's baby girl, Myiesha Khayra (isn't it a beautiful name?). And she's really beautiful too. And let me tell you, I've always been scared of holding a baby coz I'm afraid that they would start crying, but when I gathered enough courage to hold Myiesha, I was glad that she didn't mind my carrying her at all. Here I was in Bayani's suite at Pantai Medical Centre, holding Myiesha:-
After that, I went to Sue's house to see her and of course, her baby girl, Asha Zahra. I couldn't believe that Sue is now a mother and I told her so. Hehehe... :P Asha also seemed to like my holding her, and for that I was really glad. :)
And finally, I visited Nina at her mom's house in DU and saw her son, Gibran Zayd. He's a cute little guy. ;) I didn't get to hold him, though, but it's perfectly alright. He seemed content to be sleeping in his cot and then be in his mum's arms. :) Here he is:-
And you know what? Akmar + Tina just gave birth to their baby girl, Mira Amelia on Monday! Congratulations to the new parents. Insya Allah, I'll be visiting them this weekend. I can't wait to see their new bundle of joy! :)

berikan aku diari ku tulis setiap hari...
Assalamu'alaikum...don't you just love the song "Diari Seorang Lelaki" by Pretty Ugly? I can't get enough of it. :P Anyway, I haven't written in here for months now so I reckon my readers have gotten bored of taking a peek and finding no updates. :P Oh well...work has been taking up most of my time. And truthfully there were times I thought of never writing anymore. Then there were times I thought of writing but just never got the chance to. In the end (people always use the phrase "at the end of the day", which just irritates the hell out of me coz I hear it more than ten times a day at the office, so I'm not gonna be a statistic!!) I thought, what the heck, just write whenever you feel like it! And it just so happens that at this late hour whereby I should already be asleep I suddenly felt like writing, here I am. :P
Frankly speaking (here's another short phrase my brother likes to use, which sometimes irritates the hell out of me, but I'm gonna use it anyway now), I have nothing interesting to write in here. Some of you might wonder what happened to "The Wedding (Part 2)". Well, it's probably gonna be after a few more entries until I tell that story. :P As I have probably mentioned somewhere in my previous entries, weddings make me depressed sometimes coz I'm not the bride. :P So...I'm gonna leave this entry with a happy thought: I finally got to go to Kuching, Sarawak, and Abang Nyah brought us (me and parents) to the Cat Museum. And it was really cats galore!!
I love cats. Have always wanted to have one, but because of health problems in the family with regards to cats, no cats are allowed as pets. Another depressing thought. Sigh...I had to make do with the fake giant cat in the pic above. :P Anyway, besides the cat museum, we went to the cultural village and walked around it in the blazing hot sun, and it was worth it. Even got a passport, completely stamped! :D
Oklah, I have to realize that tomorrow (or rather, today) is a working day, so got to go to sleep!!

I love cats. Have always wanted to have one, but because of health problems in the family with regards to cats, no cats are allowed as pets. Another depressing thought. Sigh...I had to make do with the fake giant cat in the pic above. :P Anyway, besides the cat museum, we went to the cultural village and walked around it in the blazing hot sun, and it was worth it. Even got a passport, completely stamped! :D
Oklah, I have to realize that tomorrow (or rather, today) is a working day, so got to go to sleep!!

The Wedding (Part 1)
Assalamu'alaikum...Happy Labour Day to all you labourers out there. :) It's nice to have a long weekend, doesn't it? But it always seem so short somehow. I guess you just have to make the most of it.
Anyway, Akmar + Dayang are finally married. Last week I attended the akad nikah at Dayang's casa in Pulau Pinang. We were lucky that her house is just opposite of the hotel in which we were staying, Vistana Hotel. I flew via Air Asia on Saturday morning with Zai and Affandi. Ameer, Shahril and Yai drove there Friday night and by the time we reached the hotel, they were still sound asleep. :P Apparently, the akad nikah was postponed to 12noon instead of the initial appointed time, 10am. So we had time to iron our clothes and freshen up. When it was time to leave, we just crossed the street to Dayang's house and met the calm and composed groom and family. ;) The bride was waiting upstairs in her room, nervous yet serene.
Then the historical moment came and went after just one lafaz and there were tears of joy in the eyes of the groom, the groom's father, yours truly and even Shahril...hehehehe... :P Yang lain tu ada la jugak, tapi tak merambu-rambu... :P Zai and I went upstairs again to inform her of the good news. Her tears were threatening to come out but she held them back...nanti rosak pulak make-up! ;) Lepas tu, the usual lah went on i.e. penyarungan cincin, salam-bersalaman dengan family members and relatives, then makan time. After our stomachs were filled, we lounged in the living room until almost everyone left...punya la tak malu!! Hahahaha...sampai the groom's family were leaving, then only we left. :P
Back at the hotel, we freshen up again to go out. Just wanted to jalan-jalan and maybe shopping, so we drove to Praning Mall (I think) and shopped a little, had snack at McDonald's and headed back to the hotel to get ready for the night reception at Kompleks Tabung Haji. We got a little lost on the way, but managed to find the place nevertheless. Went up to the couple's suite to see them get ready and take pictures. Sometime during the reception, Mirza + wife and Isman + family came. Lama sungguh tak jumpa, so it was to chit chat a little with them. :)
Then as usual, after the rest of the guests left, we stayed back to take pictures with the couple on the dais. Our table was the only one that wasn't cleared up! :P The rest of the food, tables and chairs were cleared up and stacked away. Aduuhh... macam tak nak balik aje! :P Anyway, we left at about 11pm and then Ameer wanted to go to Gurney Drive (the relocated one) to have rojak, kuey teow goreng, pasembor, etc. Penat dan ngantuk tu tak ambik kira la...pegi jugak since we were already in Pulau Pinang la katakan. So, in our baju melayu and kebaya, we had our supper immediately after dinner. :P On the way back, kaum lelaki, Affandi terkecuali, sempat singgah kedai mamak nak beli nasi dhal. I'm amazed by how much space they have in their stomach!
And as much as I wanted to have a lazy Sunday morning, I had to wake up early to get to the airport. So the three of us (Affandi, Zai and me) flew back to KL on the 8:20am flight. After the both of them dropped me off at home, I felt like I didn't even go to Penang. I can't tell you how much fun I had that weekend and was kinda disappointed that it ended so soon. Sigh...

the one with the soon-to-be married friends
Assalamu'alaikum...phew! What a busy month it has been. It was one project after another. I didn't think I could go through with all of them, but thank goodness for the great team at work, including my boss. :) But it was not all work, work, work for me. I need some downtime too, right? ;) So...since it was March last month, I had my birthday dinner with the family at one of our favourite Italian restaurants in Shah Alam, at Plaza Shah Alam. And since Ameer and Bayani are also March babies, we celebrated our birthdays with the gang at Las Carretas in Taipan. Great Mexican food, great ambience, great company and great cake, courtesy of Zai. :) I took some photos with my camera, but this particular picture taken with Akmar's camera is my favourite.
Our next gathering will this weekend in Penang for Akmar + Dayang's akad nikah and reception. Congratulations in advance, guys! Hope things will go smoothly and we're all proud to be a part of it! :) Can't wait to see all of you there.
