omedeto!

It's the new year! Didn't celebrate it anywhere. Was on the phone with Sue when the clock struck 12am. :P Well, it's just another year anyway. :)

So anyway...went to Royal Selangor (formerly Selangor Pewter) in Setapak today with Rajika and Sham. There were many tourists...and obviously they were given special treatment by the tour guides. They were greeted warmly, and the guides placed a sticker that says "I was at Royal Selangor!" or something like that, on their shirts, and were immediately whisked away for the tour. But when the three of us got there, no one greeted us nor put a stupid sticker on our shirts. We had to approach the reception to ask for a tour. Such double standard!!! But what the heck, we joined the tour with the tourists anyway, but decided to take another one because the guide was talking too fast, and frankly, I couldn't understand a word of her broken English. :P

So we were fortunate enough to meet one of the staff and asked if we could get a more personal tour with a guide who doesn't talk too fast...hehehe. Well, we were there for our assignment, so naturally we had to jot down notes and take pictures, etc. So, we needed to take our time and not just breeze through the tour without understanding anything. :P Our new guide was extremely nice, informative and helpful, we decided to invite him to have lunch with us. :D We enjoyed the tour as well and personally, I'd recommend everyone to go there to get first hand experience and information about the pewter business. The tour is free and it's done 365 days throughout the year! :)

But the weather was so hot, I got a headache. Couldn't wait to get home for a cool bath. :) Thank God it rained this evening. The night is cooler. :) Now...time to make sense of my notes from the tour today! :P
